Home " About the company
What most of us take for granted can be a tremendous sense of achievement for others
The desire to continue living within your own four walls is something that most of us share. At AssiTech, we are constantly working to develop new and innovative solutions that make this possible. That is why we have created TOPRO Step, a product developed by some of the best engineers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
2012
As students at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, we started developing the TOPRO Step stair climber in 2012.
Our aim was to develop a brand new and revolutionary aid that would enable more people to stay in their own homes for as long as they want.
2015
After an extensive development process with users and therapists, TOPRO Step was tested and certified by the renowned TÜV certification body in Germany in 2015 - and TOPRO Step was launched on the market.
2016
After the market launch, we traveled extensively throughout Norway to show what TOPRO Step can do for people. We have been to countless rehabilitation centers, municipalities, physiotherapy and occupational therapy practices and people who use and enjoy the TOPRO Step stair climber in their daily lives.
When Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit tried out the TOPRO Step, it attracted a great deal of attention and even greater enthusiasm
2017
Peder (6) was born with CP and was previously unable to climb stairs independently. When we installed the TOPRO Step stair climber on Peder in summer 2017, many people were skeptical.
Peder had never before climbed stairs independently without the support of an adult. Seeing how he mastered the first test run all by himself is the biggest source of motivation for us to make the TOPRO Step stair climber available to everyone who needs it.
Today
A lot has happened since then. The company is still based in the heart of Trondheim and has product development and production under one roof in new premises in Fossegrenda. We believe that more can be done to make people independent in their everyday lives.
TOPRO Step is our contribution to a more active and safer society for those who have difficulty climbing stairs.
20...
Together we are continuing the history of TOPRO Step and look forward to a future in which even more people can benefit from TOPRO Step.
