The TOPRO Step stair climbing aid is an innovative new development in the field of mobility, aids and accessibility for people who have difficulty climbing stairs.
The TOPRO Step System is equipped with a grab handle that locks automatically when pressure is applied, providing extra support when climbing stairs.
The patented braking mechanism and the ergonomically shaped handle provide you with the safety you need to continue living independently at home.
TOPRO Step is module-based and does not need to be customised to your staircase beforehand, but is adjusted on site during installation. This makes installation clean, quick and easy.
TOPRO Step is the stair climbing aid for anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs and needs additional support.
The Stair Helper consists of a handrail that is mounted on the wall along the staircase and the grab rail, which is moved along the handrail by the user. The grab rail has two different heights so that the user can position their hands where it is most comfortable.
The patented brake mechanism ensures that the grab rail engages if there is a risk of falling. This provides the necessary support and safety that the user needs.
When the stairclimbing aid is not in use, the grab rail is folded in towards the wall and stands just 18 cm away from the wall.
The user stands behind the grab rail – which has two grip heights so that the hands can be positioned comfortably on it – and pushes it an arm’s length in front of them as they walk up the stairs. This is repeated for each step.
When descending the stairs, the grab rail is lifted slightly to the side and thus released from the locking mechanism.
Here, too, the grab rail is pushed an arm’s length away from you, then set down so that the grab rail engages – only then can you run after it.
