Tobias has been using the TOPRO Step stair climber since summer 2017 to be able to use the very steep stairs in his home safely and independently.
Tobias suffers from renal insufficiency and therefore has to undergo dialysis three times a week for five hours. As a result, Tobias has developed polyneuropathy - a nerve disease of the peripheral nervous system. Common symptoms of polyneuropathy include loss of sensitivity in the legs.
Tobias injured his knee in a fall in the bathroom in December 2017 and therefore has considerable difficulty climbing stairs. Tobias also underwent knee surgery on January 16, 2018. Being very overweight as a teenager caused his knee joints to wear out badly.

"I have developed polyneuropathy as a result of dialysis. This has damaged the nerves in my extremities and I no longer have the strength and confidence to walk and our stairs are very steep. I've already fallen down them twice.
We then installed a second stair handrail, but it wasn't the right solution. I can lean on the TOPRO Step stair support as I need to. I can go up and down the stairs depending on what hurts at the time.
